Thursday 10th May saw the first game and fundraising day in the 2018 outdoor calendar get under way, at the immaculately manicured greens of Kingswood Bowling Club where Friends of CHAS Bowlers were once again warmly welcomed.
The Greenock Dockers social club which recently closed its doors, bequeathed a final gift to the community - by donating £60,000 to good causes.
Massive well done to Tom Fairlie from Bathgate who took on a 9 mile walk along the picturesque Crinan Canal with a team of walkers to raise funds for CHAS.
Pupils from Calderside Academy have raised an incredible £2,400 for CHAS.
One of our nursing volunteers, Kim Martin, is featured in a new publication: 'The Changing Face of Volunteering in Hospice and Palliative Care'. Co-edited by our former Director of Organisational Development (and now academic), Ros Scott, it's definitely worth a read.
Kim provided a case study and demonstrates our volunteer opportunities are wide-ranging, even include contributing to international research!
