Double the fun

Raising money with other people can be great fun. Working as a group keeps everyone motivated – helping you raise as much as possible.

Group support for CHAS

There are so many ways that you can help us to support families across Scotland. For a start, we have lots of ongoing challenge events happening all year round.

But you can also organise an event of your own or book a CHAS speaker to come and tell your group about what we do.

And, if you’d like to get more involved in helping CHAS, we have volunteering opportunities available for groups too.

All through freshers week, Glasgow University Sport Association helped spread the word about the work we do by asking students to make their name in the CHAS Alphabet and pledge their support.

Organising your own event

When you’re setting up your own group event, there are a few things worth thinking about. Like how to get started and the best way to promote your event. You’ll also need to take on board a few practical considerations – like first aid and health and safety.

Don’t worry though, help is at hand. We'll tell you everything you need to know and support you along the way

And, if you’re after some fundraising materials – like balloons, buckets, banners and posters – then we’ve got that covered too. Just get in touch  and we’ll help you to make it happen.

School and nursery fundraising

If you’d like to get your school or nursery involved in raising money, here are a few ideas to get you started. Got some ideas of your own? That’s great –  new fundraising suggestions are always welcome.

Nurseries

We have lots of ways that you can raise money! Why not try some of these ideas?

  • Host a Teddybear’s Picnic
  • Organise a sponsored Welly Waddle
  • Get colourful and hold a Rainbow Walk

Primary schools

There are so many ways that primary schools can support children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Here are some suggestions:

  • Arrange an assembly or classroom talk from one of the CHAS team
  • Host a fundraising event – anything from a bake sale to a CHAS disco
  • Raise money for us at one of your events – like a school concert
  • Have a CHAS stall at your event – such as a Christmas fair
  • Choose CHAS as your charity of the year
  • Take part in our Reindeer Run in December, on a date that suits you - get in touch for more information

Secondary schools

From bake sales to dressing up days, there are many ways that secondary schools can support CHAS and help bring joy to families at our hospices. Here are some more suggestions:

  • Represent CHAS in your YPI project
  • Host a CHAS fundraising event
  • Arrange a CHAS assembly or classroom talk
  • Raise money for CHAS at your own event
  • Have a CHAS stall at one of your events
  • Choose CHAS as your charity of the year

Whatever you choose to do, get in touch and we can give you all the help you need!

College and university fundraising

At CHAS we support babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions. And, over the years, there have been lots of young people who’ve helped us to raise money so we can reach more of the families who need our help.

There are so many fun ways that you can make a difference. We already have a calendar full of great events taking place all year round.

And, we’re even planning some college and uni specific events too.

How we can help

Of course, you can also organise an event of your own – either individually or as a group. And, if you do, we’ll always be on hand to help.

We'll provide all the materials you need – like collecting cans, buckets and CHAS t-shirts.

To help you get started you can download our Fundraising Pack along with our guide to running events and our sponsorship form can help you keep track of all your donations.

Feel free to give us a call on 0141 779 6180 - we can help you through the whole process.

We’ll even come and talk to your group about CHAS – and how fundraising can help.

Tell us all about it

Whatever group event you take part in, we’d love to hear all about it. So do tell us what you’ve been doing to raise money.

If you’d like to know any more about group fundraising, then get in touch at support@chas.org.uk or call us on 0141 779 6180.
