Deirdre is currently the Chief Nurse – Head of Service - Public Protection at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
Deirdre provides strategic leadership and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of person centred, safe and effective nursing services and clinical practice.
Deirdre has held a range of clinical, managerial and professional advisory roles in both the acute and primary care setting, and within the Chief Nursing Officer Patient, Public and Health Professionals Directorate - Scottish Government.
A native of Omagh, a market town in Country Tyrone, in Northern Ireland, Deirdre is married to John and has three children Dervla, Conall and Killian.
Aside from regular trips to Ireland to visit family and friends she loves nothing more than spending weekends in Maidens.
Deirdre has a great interest in music having competed at her first feis at the age of six!
CHAS means being part of a wonderful community which provides compassionate care and support to children, young people, their family and friends within the home, hospice and hospital.
