Meet Peta: Trustees Week 2017

To mark Trustees Week 2017, we speak to one of our Trustees, Peta Hay, MD of Saxton Bampfylde’s Scottish Office, to find out why she got involved with CHAS.

CHAS’ committed and passionate Trustees are responsible for the general governance and oversight of our work. They help to keep the joy alive for the children and families we care for by volunteering their expertise relevant to the services we offer, and to the business needs of the organisation.

To mark Trustees Week 2017, we speak to one of our Trustees, Peta Hay, MD of Saxton Bampfylde’s Scottish Office, to find out why she got involved with CHAS.

“It's a bit of a cliché but I decided to volunteer for CHAS as I wanted to give something back. I had got to know the organisation the year before and had been struck by, not only the amazing work everyone does, but the professionalism of the team and organisation. As a new trustee I am still very much learning, so the opportunity to learn good governance and contribute at the same time was perfect.

“I also wanted to learn more about a sector that I have not worked in; but also see what I could bring to the role at the same time. ‎The opportunity to help an organisation that deals with the most distressing and devastating impact of terminal illness was something, as a mother, I could never say no to.”
