The Great Wall of China Trekking Adventure

Join us on 12 - 20 October 2024 on a majestic 9 day trekking adventure, covering 35km to conquer the twists, turns, steps and slopes of this formidable fortification – the famous Great Wall of China.

You’ll trek along this iconic Wonder of the World, crossing ancient watchtowers and battlement stations to witness magnificent panoramas of luscious, rolling green hills as far as the eye can see!

The trekking on this incredible challenge is hard, due to a number of steps we trek up and down each day – it can sometimes take an hour just to trek 1km! Another highlight of this challenge is to conquer the 1,000 steps up to the wall at Mutianyu – culminating with the ascent of the ‘Heavenly Ladder’. Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to explore Beijing, where you can visit iconic landmarks such as the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and the famous Tiananmen Square!

Cost:

There are different payment options for the trek, either:

Option A - Minimum Sponsorship – Pay a non-refundable registration fee of £299 and agree to raise a minimum of £3,290 for CHAS. At least 80% of the minimum sponsorship is required by CHAS no later than 12 weeks before the challenge

Option B - Self-Funding – Pay a non-refundable registration fee of £299, plus £1645 in trek costs paid to Global Adventure Challenges no later than 12 weeks before the challenge. With this option you can commit to raising as much money for CHAS as you can, or set your own fundraising target!
