Within Walking Distance of Mina House
Kinglassie village has a small main street with shops, a café, takeaways, a beauty salon, hairdressers, a barber, a pub, bowling green. There is a Post Office and cash machine within the Co-op. Some smaller businesses only accept cash.
There are some takeaways including a Chippy. These and other in neighbouring places can be found on ‘Fife Eats’ and ‘Just Eat’.
There are four park areas withing walking distance of Mina House that can be linked together as a gentle walk. The closest is around 5 minutes away. One of the parks includes a games court and a skate park. Some of the parks are suitable for wheelchairs, depending on weather and ground conditions.
Things to do by car
10 – 15 minutes away
Lochore Meadows Country Park is an outdoor space with paths, activities and a café. Recommended by other CHAS families as a beautiful park to explore offering good accessible paths and facilities. There are also car charging points here.
Cluny Park is a peaceful green space for gentle walks. Paths are partly accessible. Cluny Activities run a range of bookable activities as well as a café, Cluny Clubhouse
Glenrothes, around a ten-minute drive with a mix of indoor and outdoor activities. As well as a local shopping centre and seasonal markets there are activities within Xtreme Trampoline, Bubble Soccer and the independent Kino Cinema
Riverside Park, Glenrothes, a lovely park with an accessible maze, a playpark, skate park, riverside paths and open spaces with some wheelchair friendly routes.
15 – 25 minutes away
Beveridge Park, Kirkcaldy Popular park with play areas, a pond and toilets with some accessible parks.
The Scottish Deer Centre, Cupar around a 25 minute drive and has lots of activities as well as animals such as bears, lynx and wolves. Activities include Go-Karting, indoor play area dn adventure playground. There is a cost involved and their website with have all the info
Auchertool Buffalo Farm offers a gentle and different experience where you can meet and walk alpacas. For more information and booking activities check their website.
Falkland is a historic village with pretty streets you’ll maybe recognise as famous filming locations. Please note the cobbled streets can make wheelchairs access more challenging.
