Walk the Loch, Loch Leven

31 May 2026
Tayside and Central

Step out with family and friends for Walk the Loch, Loch Leven on Sunday 31 May and enjoy a day out in beautiful surroundings — all while helping children with life‑shortening conditions and their families across Scotland.

Choose your challenge on the stunning Loch Leven Heritage Trail:

  • The Bonnie Stroll – 7K

  • The Heather Half – 12K

  • The Big Loch Lap – 21K

Every step you take helps CHAS make sure that no family faces the death of their child alone.

All three routes begin and end at Loch Leven’s Larder and offer breathtaking views, well‑maintained paths and a fantastic atmosphere. Walks are suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities — and four‑legged friends are very welcome too!

Whichever distance you take on, Walk the Loch is a joyful, family‑friendly event that brings people together to make a real difference.

Bonnie Stroll (7K) and Heather Half (12K)

Perfect for families, these routes offer a relaxed and enjoyable way to get active together.

Our Bonnie Stroll includes a fun family treasure hunt — collect clues along the route and follow the trail to claim your prize at the finish!

Sponsorship

There’s no minimum sponsorship for the 7K or 12K walks, but every pound you raise will help CHAS continue to care for children and families when they need it most.

Age guidance

Children under 5, and young people aged 5-17 are welcome but must be accompanied on all routes by a responsible adult aged 18 or over. A maximum of 4 young people can be with any one accompanying adult on either route.

Big Loch Lap (21K)

Take on the full Big Loch Lap and enjoy a spectacular day walking through one of Scotland’s most scenic areas. This longer route is a rewarding challenge — and a powerful way to help people do more than survive, but truly live.

Sponsorship

We ask walkers to aim to raise £100 for CHAS.

We’ll support you all the way with fundraising tips, inspiration and resources to help you smash your target.

Some sections of the path may be difficult for wheelchairs and buggies. Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss the route.
Participants should feel confident completing the 21K route within a 6‑hour time limit, including breaks.

We recommend participants are 13 years or older, though younger walkers may take part at a parent or guardian’s discretion. Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or over. A maximum of 4 young people can be with any one accompanying adult.
