Virtual
1 Jun 2025 - 30 Jun 2025

This June, take on the 20 Miles in 20 Days challenge and support children with life-shortening conditions and their families across Scotland. Whether you walk, jog, or run, this is your challenge, your way. Participate wherever and however it suits you!

Join our dedicated Facebook group to claim your FREE CHAS t-shirt and set up your fundraiser to start raising vital funds.

Once in the group, you can connect with fellow participants, share your progress, and access helpful fundraising tips.

We’ve answered some of your most common questions below – but if there’s anything else you need, drop us a message at teamCHAS@chas.org.uk.

When should I take on the 20 Miles in 20 Days Challenge?

The challenge runs throughout June 2025. We suggest starting on 1 June, but it's completely up to you. Just make sure you complete your 20 miles by 30 June. Whether you do a little each day or a few big sessions, it all counts!

Do I have to do exactly one mile a day?

Nope! While the goal is to complete 20 miles in 20 days, how you split it up is completely your choice. Do a mile a day, double up some days, or go all in on weekends - this is your challenge. You can even go beyond 20 miles over the month to make it more of a challenge—and help raise even more vital funds!

How do I track my progress?

You'll receive a CHAS Challenge Tracker in your welcome pack to record your distances by hand. But you can also use a fitness app like Strava, your smartwatch, or your phone to log your miles. Be sure to share updates on your fundraiser or social media—your supporters will love to see your progress!

How do I set up my fundraising page?

You can set up your fundraiser through Facebook or JustGiving when you register. Your page will come pre-filled with a challenge banner and description, but feel free to personalise your story.

Need help? Email us at teamCHAS@chas.org.uk and we’ll guide you through it.

Do I have to run or walk the challenge? What if I want to do something else?

This is your challenge - do it your way! Whether you prefer swimming, cycling, skipping, or getting creative with how you complete your 20 miles, it all counts. Make it fun and make it yours!

Can I do more than 20 miles?

Yes! You can absolutely go further, whether you're aiming for 30, 50, or even 100 miles, the sky’s the limit. Go big and make it your own!

How do I register for my FREE CHAS t-shirt and fundraising pack?

Join our Facebook group for the challenge, then register to set up your Facebook or JustGiving fundraiser and claim your t-shirt. Not on Facebook? No problem - just email teamCHAS@chas.org.uk and we’ll sort you out.

Will I receive a medal for taking part?

Everyone who signs up gets a free CHAS t-shirt. If you raise £100 or more, you’ll receive an exclusive 20 Miles in 20 Days medal.

Do I have to fundraise through Facebook?

Facebook and JustGiving are the easiest ways to collect donations - they link directly to CHAS and are simple to set up. But if you’d rather collect offline donations, request a sponsor form from us at teamCHAS@chas.org.uk or use the one included in your welcome pack.

A friend donated to my fundraiser by accident. Can they get a refund?

Unfortunately, we can’t issue refunds through Facebook, but people can request a refund themselves from Facebook by following the steps below:

Send them this link: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/162031714239823

  • Select - I donated to a fundraiser on Facebook
  • Select - I want a refund for my donation(s)
  • Select - I made a donation by accident and request the refund.

My friend who is not on Facebook would like to donate – how can they do this?

There are two options for them to support your Facebook fundraiser:

  • They can give you the cash or transfer you the funds (via PayPal, Online Banking etc), and you can add the donation to your fundraiser
  • They can donate directly to CHAS via https://www.chas.org.uk/donate - if they do this please ask them to put your name and "20 Miles in 20 Days" in the message box so funds can be allocated correctly

I requested a sponsor sheet – how do I send in the funds raised from this?

If you have raised money via a sponsor sheet, then you can:

  • Transfer the funds directly to our bank account – get in touch with Holly for our bank details – teamCHAS@chas.org.uk.

If transferring donations to us directly for the challenge please email teamCHAS@chas.org.uk to let us know, so we can keep an eye on your donations coming through and allocate them accordingly.

I want to complete the challenge as a team – how do I do this?

The easiest way to create a team page is via JustGiving. Once one person has created the fundraiser, they can click ‘Create a Team’ to invite team members to join.

If you’d prefer to use a Facebook fundraising page, Facebook suggests you add up to three friends to be organisers and rally more supporters to reach your fundraising goals. First, create your fundraiser on Facebook, and then click the three dots next to the "share" button, to add your organisers.

We’re so excited to have you on board for the 20 Miles in 20 Days Challenge. Thank you for going the distance for CHAS. If you’ve got any other questions, feel free to reach out to us at teamCHAS@chas.org.uk.

Let’s walk, run, or jog – and make every mile matter. 💜
