e has a particular interest in children requiring long-term ventilation, sleep medicine, airway problems and neuromuscular disorders. He has also served as Clinical Director covering medical specialties within the children’s hospital.
Originally from North Wales, Philip has lived in Cambridge, Manchester and Cardiff before settling near Glasgow. He has raised two children with his wife, both now at university. In his spare time, he enjoys walking in the Scottish countryside and continues to take violin lessons.
I have worked closely with CHAS professionally over many years, with many of my own patients benefiting from the support that they provide. Having a child with a shortened life places enormous pressures on families and I know that the facilities available in Robin and Rachel House as well as the superb staff in the organisation are so appreciated by families and their ability to reach out into the community for patients all over Scotland is important. The work that CHAS does is as much about allowing children to live well, as it is to allow them to die with dignity and peacefully.
