Morven MacLean

Morven is the Director for People and Strategy

The Directorate comprises of HR, Volunteering, Learning and Development, and Strategy and Programme Development functions.

Morven joined CHAS in 2015 as Head of Volunteering and became Director of People and Strategy in 2022.

Morven has worked in a wide range of charities and public sector organisations including Macmillan Cancer Support and Glasgow Life where she received the prestigious Macmillan Professionals award for Innovation for her work in developing the Macmillan/Glasgow Libraries partnership programme.

Passionate about strategy development, volunteering and organisational development, Morven has successfully led a broad spectrum of service and development functions, innovating to transform organisational culture and motivating individuals and teams to deliver ambitious strategies.

Morven has served on the Board of Edinburgh Women’s Aid and as Chair of Glasgow Women’s Aid, which has afforded her further skills and knowledge around senior level management and governance.

A qualified executive coach, Morven is passionate about supporting others to fulfil their potential and find inspiration, purpose and meaning in their work.

Our people are our biggest and most precious asset, motivated and passionate about what they do. My job is to work with colleagues to mobilise our community of staff and volunteers behind our vision and cause, aligning our people with our strategy. It’s an immense privilege to work for CHAS and I’m inspired every day by the strength and resilience of the families we support. Every day I am truly humbled by the generosity and commitment from everyone who fundraises for CHAS. It's a privilege to lead a team whose sole focus is to inspire the public and the difference their support makes - it is our supporters who help keep the joy alive and we wish each and every one to understand how much joy their gift will bring.
