Director of Income Generation and Engagement

Iain McAndrew

Iain is the Director of Income Generation and Engagement

Iain leads on the transformation of CHAS fundraising and communication with the introduction of CHAS "Keep the Joy Alive" brand positioning. This includes the magical and unique award winning CHAS alphabet designed by the children and families who CHAS support. In addition, Iain provides oversight to Ardoch Loch Lomond gifted to CHAS in 2021 supporting its 'Profit with Purpose' commercialisation.

Iain brings significant experience in fundraising, marketing and communications to CHAS, gained within a variety of national and international charities including Guide Dogs, Save the Children and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Iain graduated from the University of Kent with a B.A in Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management and Law with his first fundraising role being with RNIB's in 1998. Since then, Iain has served as a Trustee from 2019 to 2024 where he helped shape the charity's new purpose. Iain has extensive experience in purpose lead fundraising and in governance matters, holding a range of voluntary and non-executive positions with Remember a Charity, Will Aid and as a former Trustee of ADD International, an organisation that campaigns internationally to empower disabled people and marginalised communities to access their rights.

Iain, who lost his sight at the age of 23, now lives in Scotland with his wife Lorainne. having lived in Kent for 25 years before joining CHAS.

Our mission to reach every family across Scotland simply wouldn't be possible without the continued generosity from all our donors and funders who stand with families at the toughest of times. We care about our supporters, and communicate with them honestly by ensuring the stories we share are driven by the principle of the truth well told. We are accountable for the stories we tell, and make sure they are delivered carefully and respectfully, in line with the families' wishes. This integrity is important to us as you, a supporter or funder, are a vital part of the CHAS family making sure that no one should face the death of a child alone. Every day I am truly humbled by the generosity and commitment from everyone who fundraises for CHAS. It's a privilege to lead a team whose sole focus is to inspire the public and the difference their support makes - it is our supporters who help keep the joy alive and we wish each and every one to understand how much joy their gift will bring.
