Celebrating an Incredible Partnership - British Gas Energy Trust
Families caring for children with life-shortening conditions face overwhelming financial pressures. Many are unable to work due to full-time caring responsibilities, and over 80% struggle to afford essential household items. Energy costs are especially challenging, often double the national average, due to the need to run life-saving equipment and keep homes warm and safe.
These pressures can leave families in debt, without savings, and facing difficult choices about basic needs — all while managing the emotional and physical demands of caring for a seriously ill child.
That’s why our partnership with British Gas Energy Trust means so much.
Together, we’ve returned over £2 million to 2,617 families across Scotland — helping them stay warm, safe, and financially supported when they need it most. 💛
Thanks to this support, CHAS’s Financial Wellbeing and Energy Advice team is reaching more families than ever — helping them:
Maximise household income
Improve energy efficiency
Reduce energy bills
Navigate the winter months with greater security
We were delighted to welcome the British Gas Energy Trust team to Rachel House, our Kinross Hospice, for a special opportunity to reflect on the positive impact our partnership has had.
This is a shining example of what’s possible when we work together to make a real difference. Thank you to British Gas Energy Trust for your incredible support — it truly matters to children and families across Scotland. 💛
