Join CHAS as an Action Team member in Perth and help fund our vital services. You can choose which volunteering opportunities to get involved in, from cheering at sporting events, collecting in your local supermarket or volunteering at black tie events.

Join CHAS as an Action Team member in Perth and help fund our vital services. You can choose which volunteering opportunities to get involved in, from cheering at sporting events, collecting in your local supermarket or volunteering at black tie events. However you chose to give your time you’ll be making an impact on children and families across Scotland. We’ll let you know what opportunities are available in your area and you can choose how much time to give. 

What activities could I be involved in?

  • Cheering on the CHAS participants at a sporting event
  • Collecting money at your local supermarket or in your community
  • Volunteering at one of our Ladies Lunches
  • Getting involved with Capital Sci Fi Con events in your local area
  • Many other activities and events throughout the year

What skills and abilities will I need to have?

  • An ability to represent CHAS enthusiastically and appropriately
  • Willingness to make a difference
  • Team player
  • Shared values with the organisation: respect, care, honesty, accountability

How much time should I offer?

You choose what works for you. Whether you can spare one hour a week or one hour a month, you’ll be helping children and families to make precious memories.

What ongoing learning/support/guidance will I receive?

It’s important to us that you feel happy, safe and confident in your role. Before each event that you sign up for, you’ll be given a full briefing. You’ll also get ongoing support and regular updates from our Volunteering Team.

We are always developing new opportunities for volunteers to learn and offer a range of options for volunteers.

  • By collecting money and supporting our events, you are helping to fund our vital services that support children and families at difficult times in their lives.
  • A visible presence in the community, you are the public face of CHAS and help to raise awareness of our vital services in the community.

What else should I know?

We will pay your out-of-pocket expenses in line with the CHAS volunteer expenses policy.
