George was elected as Chair of CHAS in September 2017.
George joined the CHAS Board in 2009, and has served on the Finance and Investment, and Corporate Governance Committees.
George retired from Ernst & Young in December 2016. He was Managing Partner of EY's Edinburgh Office and EY's Head of Financial Services for Scotland and the UK Regions. Prior to joining EY, George worked for Standard Life and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, both in the UK and Internationally.
George was born and raised in Inverness and went to University in St Andrews. He has been married to Sandra for over twenty years. They live just outside Linlithgow and have two children (Rachel aged 18, currently studying Maths at St Andrew's University, and Alexander aged 16, who is still at school). George's main interests are family, all sports (particularly golf), travel, and music.
Across Scotland, CHAS is the most vital source of support and care for families who are living with a child (or children) with life-limiting conditions. CHAS provides tailored clinical, medical and nursing support for terminally ill young people, as well as respite care and compassion to their parents and siblings, helping families enjoy their time together. CHAS is a national treasure, and its hospices in Kinross and Balloch are joyful and inspirational places.
