Elaine’s role within the board is Chief Nurse, Professional Governance and Regulation.

Elaine's current post is Chief Nurse Professional Governance and Regulation within the Board, with responsibility for professional practice, behaviour and conduct.

Elaine's a nurse and works in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. She has worked within children and adult services during a long and varied career.

As Mum to Gordon and Jill, wife to Ian, mother in law to Phil and Debbie and Gran to 18-month-old Lois, Elaine is kept busy! We can’t forget Mac,  her baby…a 12 yr old black Labrador cross rescue dog. The best £40 Elaine has ever spent.

Elaine loves walking Mac, reading, and making a right old fool of herself at Zumba classes, as well as catching up with friends for lunch or coffee.

CHAS is very special to me. I describe all those involved whether staff, babies children, young people, families and friends as special people.

I have great admiration and respect for CHAS staff whether they are patient touching or support function; What I see in them is great care, compassion and kindness.

What I know of the families who make up CHAS are their resilience, graciousness, compassion, and caring, often for others while they face challenging and difficult times themselves..

What CHAS means to me is life; hope, joy, sadness, tears, and lots of laughter.
