CHAS announced as Morgan Stanley Glasgow’s charity partner

Staff at Morgan Stanley's Glasgow office vote for CHAS as their charity partner for the next two years.

Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) is celebrating after being selected as Morgan Stanley Glasgow’s charity partner for the next two years after staff voted for the children’s hospice charity in a five-day campaign.

The partnership will see employees aiming to raise £180,000, which will be instrumental in the development of our bereavement support service for children across Scotland who have a sibling with a life-shortening condition; supporting every child to flourish beyond bereavement.

This innovative new project will transform the lives of approximately 1,000 brothers and sisters during the two-year partnership and leave a lasting legacy for thousands more children who will have access to this vital service in years to come.

Rami Okasha, CEO at CHAS, said: “We know that successful partnerships are based on shared purpose and you can see here how Morgan Stanley and CHAS’s aims align perfectly.

“This partnership will ensure that children experiencing the illness and death of their sibling are supported to deal with complex feelings in productive ways. Allowing them to flourish beyond their experience, with better health and attainment outcomes, and brighter futures.

“So thank you, Morgan Stanley. Together, we will give brothers and sisters of critically ill children across Scotland the very best chance in life.”

With more than 1,400 employees in the Glasgow team, Morgan Stanley will support CHAS by taking part in a number of fundraising events throughout the partnership and by volunteering their time. CHAS will work alongside the team to create a bespoke calendar of events appealing to as many employees as possible and creating opportunities for engagement.

Graham Rogers, Head of Finance and Co-Head of Morgan Stanley Glasgow said: “Morgan Stanley has a longstanding commitment to children’s wellbeing and a global alliance to help address the challenge of children’s mental health in our local communities, so we are delighted to be partnering with CHAS. By supporting CHAS and the development of their bereavement support service, we hope to ensure bereaved children across Scotland have equal access to the emotional support they deserve.”

Giving back is one of Morgan Stanley’s core values. With offices in over 41 countries, the firm and its employees are passionate about supporting the local communities in which they live and work. In Glasgow, this new charity partnership will be transformative for families across the length and breadth of Scotland.
