Mary Irvine, Ross Flannagan and a team of keen bowlers have yet again raised a fantastic amount of money for CHAS. Now in its sixth year, the Freya Triples Bowling Day has grown from strength to strength and last week Mary, Ross and friends were able to handover £1810.39 to CHAS.
Mary said; 'I raise this money specifically for Rachel House as my Granddaughter Freya uses CHAS services. I am lucky to have such committed people round about me who help ensure the event is a success. I would like to thank the DJ Ian McAdam for coming along for free, Del's Rolls and the local butchers who ensure we have some yummy rolls and sausages free of charge, the Wellington Café who made sure I could feed around 70 bowlers on the day, Ayr Craigie Bowling Club for their continued support and of course to everyone who came along on the day - I couldn't do it without you all'.
Since 2013 this event has raised £6320.04! A truly incredible achievement and CHAS Fundraiser Samantha was delighted to go along and collect the money raised.
This event has community spirit at the heart of their fundraising and we have even heard of how the winning team donated their prize money to CHAS - thank you so much and good luck for next year (yes, due to popular demand the 2019 date has been set already!)
