Pauline and her daughter Ruby are just one of the many families CHAS supports - not just at Christmas, but every day of the year.
However, as you read this, for every family like Pauline that CHAS supports, there are two others in Scotland who we can't reach.
They will be struggling through Christmas, wondering if it will be their last with their child.
CHAS needs your help to reach those families.
Pauline's nine-year-old daughter Ruby has an undiagnosed neuromuscular disorder which means she cannot walk or speak, and relies on oxygen and feeding tubes.
Pauline says: "We weren't expecting any problems when I was pregnant, but when Ruby was born we realised quite quickly that something was wrong.
"My prayers for Ruby's recovery changed from 'please let her be OK' to 'please God let her live, please give her time, give us time'. The silliest things would go through my head. I was so scared she would never see the sun, smell a flower or hear the sea."
Thankfully, after a series of operations to help her breathing, Pauline was able to leave hospital with Ruby.
"Christmas has always been my favourite time of year, and I was desperate for Ruby to experience some of the magic and wonder of Christmas," says Pauline.
"The CHAS team really understood how important it was to make it extra special for Ruby. In the beginning, I thought every Christmas would be Ruby's last, but now I'm a little more optimistic. CHAS has helped put the sparkle and joy back into our Christmas."
We'll give you all the support you need to sprinkle festive joy across your office. Your logo will be proudly displayed on a decoration and hung on one of our Christmas trees at your chosen CHAS location.
