The Glasgow Lunch CHAS-Singo

The Glasgow Lunch CHAS Singo was held at The Hilton, William Street last Friday, 15 March, and our guests had a wonderful day!

This was our first ever musical (quiz) bingo event, and the feedback from guests has all been very positive.

Des Clarke was a remarkable host adapting to the new format with style, ease and wit. West end and International leading lady, Shona White astounded us with her pitch perfect voice and heartfelt musicals tribute.

It was also fantastic to have the amazing BLEEKER preform who absolutely rocked the dancefloor!

Whilst there was a lot of fun and games, it is also important to remember why we were all there. It was a privilege to hear from CHAS mum, Jennifer Stewart who told us about her beloved son Luke, and the support and care her family received. CHAS Chaplin Amanda Reid also introduced a short film about the remarkable work of the CHAS team up in the Grampian region led by CHAS Diana Nurse, Louise Esson.

We had set a target to raise £6,500 for our Direct Appeal to help support our newly established bereavement team, but thanks to our guests' generosity, we raised an incredible £10k!

We are extremely pleased to announce that with the support of our guests, sponsors and prizes donors, we managed to raise an incredible £56k for CHAS

After costs (which unfortunately continue to rise at an unbelievable rate), just over £32k will go directly to our services.

Delighted to share our wonderful volunteer photographer, Bill Sinclair's slideshow from the event.

And you can see the GIFs taken by Lukas at BLUR Productions.

There was some great feedback from our guests:

"Fantastic day for a fantastic cause, these people are all angels".

"A brilliant day out for a hugely worthwhile cause".

"It was heartbreaking hearing the stories from Jennifer and Amanda but very touching and am glad that I was able to contribute to CHAS and the incredible work they do".

We hope to see you all again next year.
