Diana Children's Nurses
Diana Children’s Nurses are developing palliative care services and support for babies, children and young people in Scotland.
They work alongside NHS staff, and with other care staff, to provide clinical leadership and support in the planning and delivery of palliative care. By working together, families can have a greater choice of care about where and how their child can be cared for, whether it’s in hospital, at home or in a CHAS hospices.
Diana Children's Nurses aim to cover the whole of Scotland:
- Evelyn Rodger covers the South East of Scotland and Tayside, and focuses on neonates with complex palliative needs and those approaching end of life
- Fiona Reid covers the North of Scotland and focuses on community practice
- Caroline Porter covers the West of Scotland and focuses on paediatric intensive care and haemato-oncology.
They are named as a tribute to Diana Princess of Wales and the roles are paid for by the fund set up by the Government to commemorate her life and work.
