Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS)

CHAS is recognised as the centre of excellence in Scotland for palliative care for children.

CHAS is committed to:

• Developing its staff to ensure that the service we deliver is child-centred and family-focused, whilst also acknowledging the latest developments in symtom management, from a multi-disciplined team approach.
• Sharing its experience and expertise with other relevant agencies, both locally, nationally and internationally.
• Raising awareness amongst professionals and families of the scope and nature of the needs of children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and the services that are available from CHAS and other health-care professionals, to include eventual ongoing bereavement support.

CHAS is working to create educational opportunities for professionals working with, or interested in, children's palliative care. A new module which can be studied on its own or as part of an MSc programme is available from the University of Dundee.
