Professional Development
CHAS is recognised as the centre of excellence in Scotland for palliative care for children.
CHAS is committed to:
- Developing its staff to ensure that the service we deliver is child-centred and family-focused, whilst also acknowledging the latest developments in symtom management, from a multi-disciplined team approach.
- Sharing its experience and expertise with other relevant agencies, both locally, nationally and internationally.
- Raising awareness amongst professionals and families of the scope and nature of the needs of children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and the services that are available from CHAS and other health-care professionals, to include eventual ongoing bereavement support.
CHAS is working to create educational opportunities for professionals working with, or interested in, children's palliative care. A new module which can be studied on its own or as part of an MSc programme is available from the University of Dundee.
The Education Department at CHAS will be developing further opportunities and would be pleased to hear from you if you are interested in being kept informed about these developments.
