CO-OPERATIVE CHILDCARE CASH BOOSTS CHARITIES
A £19,000 donation from Imagine Co-operative Childcare – the childcare business owned and run by The Midcounties Co-operative - will benefit five UK charities.
In addition to running six childcare nurseries, Midcounties also operates a national Childcare Voucher Scheme business.
The Childcare Voucher Schemes enable working parents to benefit from tax and National Insurance exemptions by sacrificing part of their salary in return for electronic vouchers.
The vouchers are then paid directly to their childcare provider. This is both cost effective and easy for all parties concerned.
The £19,000 Share of the Profits payment is donated by the Imagine Co-operative Childcare Voucher Scheme, meeting their client’s requests and will be given as follows:
CLIC Sargent (Oxford based - the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity) - £4,880
Manchester Children’s Hospital - £2,711
Rays of Sunshine (granting wishes for terminally and seriously ill children) - £4,351
Ty Hafan (the Children’s Hospice in Wales - £2,448
CHAS (Children’s Hospice Association in Scotland) - £4,578
Business Services Manager Tracy Wilson said, “As a co-operative business, Midcounties is well known for sharing part of its profits with its members and supporting the local communities where it trades.
“The chosen charities were voted for by those involved in our Childcare Voucher Scheme so these are organisations that parents and employees already have a strong connection with. We are very pleased to be able to help with a worth-while donation.”
