Global Xchange Team Grow Money on Tree for CHAS

Thursday 22 December 2011

On Friday 16 December a group of volunteers from Global Xchange, a youth exchange programme which encourages young people aged 18-22 to work on community projects in the UK and abroad, raised £371 for CHAS.Handmade Rocking Horse Decorations

Volunteers at the fundraiser, at the Ingarth Community Centre Christmas Party, offered people handmade rocking horse decorations (pictured) in return for a donation to CHAS, and also raffled the Christmas tree the decorations were displayed on.

The group, from the UK and Tanzania, were in Aberdeen for the first 12 weeks of their six months exchange programme. As a new group to the city they were keen to get involved with a local charity and were inspired by the launch of CHAS at Home in Aberdeen in November 2011.

The Gloabl Xchange Team with the Christmas tree they raffled for CHASCHAS Fundraiser Sarah Secombes said “We are absolutely delighted that the Global Xchange group chose to fundraise for CHAS. They put a lot of work into planning for the day and making decorations and we are so grateful for all their efforts.”
