CHAS has today announced the appointment of Maria McGill as the new Chief Executive of the organisation. Maria McGill will be starting at CHAS in October following the retirement of the current Chief Executive, Marian Keogh..

 
Maria will be joining CHAS from The Highland Hospice in Inverness where she has held the position of Chief Executive since 2004. Maria is a leading figure in specialist palliative care in Scotland with over 18 years of experience. She is currently Chairperson of the Council of Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care as well as Chairperson of the Living and Dying Well Short Life Working Group (4).

CHAS Chairperson Gordon Dickson said, “CHAS is delighted that Maria McGill will be joining us as Chief Executive. Maria brings a wealth of relevant experience and we are all looking forward to working with her in this next exciting phase of CHAS’s continuing development. At the same time as welcoming in the new CEO, I also pay tribute to our retiring Chief Executive, Marian Keogh, who has done so much for CHAS over the last few years.”

Maria McGill said, “The role of Chief Executive at CHAS is a dream job for me and I am thoroughly looking forward to taking up position in October. I have worked closely with CHAS on a number of occasions and I have always been very impressed with the work it carries out as Scotland’s only children’s hospice charity. I look forward to joining the team and leading the charity forward.”
