Fundraising Volunteers
There are many opportunities to become a fundraising volunteer. Some of these interesting roles are explained below but please feel free to contact your local fundraising office for further information, we would be delighted to speak to you.
Volunteer Speaker
CHAS has an extensive network of volunteer speakers who are trained to raise the profile (and consequently funds) in their local area. Our speakers attend talks and cheque collections at a variety of groups including church guilds, Rotary Clubs and SWRIs.
Collecting Can Co-ordinator
Can co-ordinators raise the profile of CHAS, as well as funds, by sourcing new sites in their local area in which to place a collecting can (eg. local post office, garage, pub, hotel). This role is flexible, local and does not involve public speaking. You'll receive all the training and support you need.
Office Volunteer
CHAS has four fundraising offices and a team of skilled volunteers help with typing thank you letters, assisting with mail, counting money and a range of other office duties. We ask that office volunteers have up-to-date office skills and can make a regular commitment.
General Fundraising Volunteers
If you can't make a regular commitment to CHAS but still want to help out, then this is the role for you. Throughout the year CHAS has a number of can shakes, bucket shakes, stalls, fetes, fairs and other events which require a lot of helpers. As a registered CHAS volunteer you benefit from an induction, training, regular updates and the opportunity to attend our annual Volunteer Conference. You will also receive all the materials and help required for your specific role.
