Payroll Giving

Also known as Give As You Earn (GAYE) Payroll Giving is a simple, tax effective way for employees to make regular donations – you can give as little or as much you can afford with no financial cost to the employee or employer.

Pledge £5 from your gross salary each month and the actual cost to you is only £4. You don’t pay tax on your gift and the taxman pays the difference. If you pay tax at a higher rate your pledge of £5 will only cost you £3.

If 135 staff give just 20p per day (£1 per week), the collective value to CHAS is £585 per month or £7,020 per year.

“Donating some of your wage to the charity fund is something you never really think about, but there is a sense of achievement when you are in a position to help out. Although none of us has run a marathon or braved white water rapids we are proud to have helped CHAS.” Wilma Norton, Manager, Pitney Bowes.
