Gift Aid - help us make your donation go further
Gift Aid is an easy way to raise extra money for CHAS, at no extra cost to you, by allowing us to reclaim tax.
How much is Gift Aid worth to an eligible donation?
A Gift Aid donation is worth an additional 25p per £1 to CHAS, plus an additional 3p per £1 on transitional relief until 5 April 2011.
How do I go about it?
To make a Gift Aid donation, just complete the Gift Aid declaration form. Gift Aid Declaration form (45.13 kB)
You must pay enough UK income tax and/or capital gains tax to cover the amount of tax CHAS will reclaim. A declaration can be made to cover individual donations, a series of donations, it can cover donations made during a specific period and can cover all future donations. They can also be backdated for up to four years prior to the date of the declaration provided the donation has been made since 6 April 2000.
How much does CHAS receive from the Gift Aid scheme?
Currently, CHAS receives between £80,000 and £90,000 in Gift Aid claims each year. We hope to see this increase in 2010.
