CHAS Services
CHAS has two children's hospices - Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch, near Loch Lomond. Our CHAS at Home Team (previously called Rachel House at Home) helps children and families in the Highlands by providing support to them in their own homes. The Team also provide homecare support to families across Scotland when they need it.
A children's hospice cares for children and young people who are not expected to survive into adulthood. It provides practical help, emotional support and advice for the whole family.
Both hospices are purpose-built and each provides ongoing support for up to 200 families across Scotland each year. At any one time, Rachel House and Robin House can each accommodate eight children and their families. CHAS services are free to children and families who need them and both hospices and our CHAS at Home service are funded mainly through the huge generosity of our many supporters who help us in so many ways.
Our hospice services support families throughout Scotland by providing:
- Specialist palliative support through respite care and emergency care for the whole family with a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition.
- Terminal care and bereavement counseling.
- Practical support, information and advice. This may also be offered to families in their own homes.
Apart from the hospice services provided by CHAS at Rachel House, Robin House and by the CHAS at Home Team, CHAS provides other services and information for professionals and members of the general public.
