CHAS research

CHAS is in the process of commissioning two discrete pieces of research to develop knowledge and evidence which will inform practice and service development in the future.

The areas for this research are:

  • Pain and symptom management in children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
  • Communication by hospice staff with children, young people and families about death and dying issues.

CHAS has set up a Research Advisory Committee to help us with the commissioning process, the members of which are listed in the Research Specification.

Recent Research Projects

In 2006 CHAS commissioned two pieces of research. The first to evaluate our Home Care support service and the second to identify the Future Research Priorities for CHAS.

This research work was undertaken by the Cancer Care Research Centre, University of Stirling.
