On Monday 15 March 2010 in Merchant Square, Albion Street, a troupe of Irish dancers and musicians provided passers-by with the chance to try their hand, and most importantly their feet, at a traditional Irish dance.Join the Jig


Dancers from Celtic Cousins accompanied by local musician William Patterson and staff from the two Glasgow O’Neill’s pubs – O’Neill’s Merchant Square and O’Neill’s Sauchiehall Street showed everyone how to perform the Galway Reel.


Kenny Corbett, manager of O’Neill’s on Sauchiehall Street said: “What better way to raise money, and a smile, on an otherwise ordinary Monday?”

 
Glasgow Youth Choir Sing for CHAS! PDF Print E-mail

On Saturday 20 March, East Kilbride Old Parish Church was filled with the wonderful sound of young people's voices in a special fundraising concert for CHAS. Glasgow Youth Choir Concert


The Senior Choir set the standard for the evening by singing Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus and a wonderful rendition of 'The Rose'. The Junior Choir then took everyone on a journey, which touched on the Easter story, through performing 'Within the Shadow of the Cross' by Besig. They then had the audience rocking with laughter at their 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' by McFerrin.

New Ramp Makes Life Easier for CHAS at Home Team PDF Print E-mail

The CHAS at Home team in Inverness are delighted to announce the official opening of a new entry ramp to their premises at 9 Ardross Terrace, Inverness on Saturday 6 March 2010.

The ramp, constructed by local joiner Tom Mckenna, will make access much easier for the children and young people who use the service in the Highlands.  Deborah Mathieson and Hector MacDonald on the local access committee, a voluntary organisation which provides advice and information, were instrumental in starting proceedings for the ramp and aided CHAS through the process as a fellow charity.

Donated clothing is transformed into funds for Scotland’s Children’s Hospice Charity.Clothes Aid Cheque Presentation

Clothes collection company, Clothes Aid, was pleased to present the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) with £100,000 on Wednesday 10 March. The impressive amount was raised over the past 12 months through house to house collections of donated clothing throughout Scotland.

The Managing Director Ian McCall of Alba Facilities Services and his colleagues Allan McCall and Richie Cotton will be cycling from Little Frankie’s Restaurant in Carlisle starting on 21 May 2010 and finishing on 28 May 2010 at The Filling Station Restaurant in Inverness.
