Bruce House Sponsored 10K PDF Print E-mail

Staff and their families at Bruce House, Angus Council Social Work and Health Department in Arbroath recently took part in a sponsored 10K run and walk to raise funds for CHAS and Cancer Research UK.Angus Council

The event, held on 22 March 2010, was a great success and raised a fantastic £316 for CHAS and £821 for Cancer Research UK.

New in post David Strathearn, Regional Fundraising Manager for the North of Scotland receives his first “big cheque” for CHAS. Edrington Group


The donation of £6,430 comes from the Edrington Group of distillers, which own such prestigious brands as the Macallan and The Famous Grouse and Highland Park.

A class of first year pupils at Strathaven Academy created their own quiz for the rest of the year group, in order to raise funds for CHAS.  They created a quiz with 60 questions, which had to be answered during one 50 minute lesson and by doing so they raised £1,105.40 which will go directly towards the vital services offered by CHAS.

The competition, run in partnership with the Aberdeen Evening Express, searched for a Mum and Dad in the North East of Scotland to win the coveted title.

Stage Lights at Robin HouseFamilies staying at Robin House were treated to an exclusive performance by the Stage Lights Theatre Company on 29 April 2010.  Members of the cast previewed their new show ‘Our House’ and presented a cheque for £2,000 to CHAS.

craft club - april 2010Since they started making their beautifully hand crafted greetings cards in 2007, the Salvation Army Community Church Craft Club (Livingston) have made over 2,000 cards for us to sell in our charity shops.
